This page is built in the hope of bringing pride to Arabs.

Below is an encouraging email I had the honor of receiving from my old time AUB buddy and now MD, Fouad Boulos.

"Hi Rami,

I never really got a grip on the magnitude of our problem as arabs and lebanese until I got this series of replies between some of the people on your mailing list. I never would have thought that a decent and simple idea such as the one you suggested could cause such a tremulous wave of replies.

Replies are good. Discussion is even better. It actually is the only way to sort out differences in opinions and points of view,and reach a level of higher understanding and tolerance.

The problem is that we arabs do not discuss.We impose on all others the way we think and sequester our minds in our rotten ivory towers until the winds of progress wipe us out or burry us under a well deserved mountain of dust and desolation.

I say this with bitterness and grief. We arabs will never be able to stand in unity and claim victory against our enemies until the day when we will give up our pride and put our hands and hearts together,to claim victory against our selfishness and wrath.

Believe me Rami, it is not really about billions of dollars. It is all about goodwill, honesty, truth and love of the nation more than love of our smothering earthworm-like selves.

Go on Rami with the page, because the only people who make a difference are the ones who run after their dreams and try to make them happen. But don't be sad if you don't witness things changing in your lifetime for you have chosen one heck of a tough dream, friend.

One last point. Call the page The Arab Foolish Pride Page, maybe then some eyes will open and some others will wake up from a long overdue sleep.
