Not Christian
or Jew or Muslim, not Hindu or cultural
system. I am not from the East from the
ground, not natural or ethereal, not am not an
entity in this world or in the next, origin story.
My place is placeless, a trace I belong
to the beloved, have seen the two first, last,
outer, inner, only that Rumi from The Essential Rumi translated by Coleman Barks with John Moyne PS: Rumi was born Jalaluddin Balkhi, September 30, 1207, in Balkh, Afghanistan which was part of the Persian empire back then. One of the most beloved and read mystical poets in America and all over the world. |
