In late 2001, there was a Festival of Lights celebration in 3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica and I caught a Hare Krishna congregation chanting and worshiping. I found this girl's make-up intense, I had to photograph her. The chant is accompanied by a rhythmic dance that builds momentum as the chant is repeated. The Hare-Krishna claim that the "Rama, Hare, Hare Rama" chant purifies the soul. They can be very annoying when they try to push their "enlightenment" books and get donations from by-standers.
